General Features of Shelly DALI Dimmer

The Shelly DALI Dimmer is a gateway device that connects the Shelly ecosystem and APIs with a DALI lighting network. It can control lighting sources compatible with DALI and contain DALI control gear.

According to DALI, it functions as a controller with a single master, supporting LED control gear (Part 207) that does not share the line with other DALI devices.

The device features line power that allows control of up to X non-powered line units. The Shelly DALI Dimmer can be accessed, controlled, and monitored remotely from anywhere with internet access, provided it is connected to a Wi-Fi router and the internet.

It has a built-in web interface for monitoring, controlling, and adjusting its settings.

Supported Load Types

• Can control up to 5 DALI bus units. The nominal current capacity of the internal power supply is 10mA. Bus units must be powered externally.

• Contains DALI bus power supply with a maximum output of 35mA.

User Interface

Inputs

• One (Control) button

  • Press and hold for 5 seconds to enable the device's access point and Bluetooth connection.

  • Press and hold for 10 seconds to reset the device to factory settings.

Outputs

• LED (monochrome) indicator

  • AP (Access Point) enabled and Wi-Fi disabled: 1 second ON / 1 second OFF

  • Wi-Fi enabled but not connected to a network: 1 second ON / 3 seconds OFF

  • Connected to Wi-Fi network: Continuously ON

  • Cloud enabled but not connected: 1 second ON / 5 seconds OFF

  • Connected to Shelly Cloud: Continuously ON

  • OTA (Over the Air Update): ½ second ON / ½ second OFF

  • Button pressed and held for 5 seconds: ½ second ON / ½ second OFF

  • Button pressed and held for 10 seconds: ¼ second ON / ¼ second OFF

The above list starts with the initial state of the device and the lowest priority. Each state blinks the LED, with priority given to the last state.
